Prosveta-Sofia Foundation (Bulgaria)

Prosveta-Sofia Foundation is a non-government non-profit organization. Its mission is to support the modernization of Bulgarian education and
work to improve its quality. It supports the implementation of leading European and world standards in Bulgarian school education through various
initiatives. We have good experience in managing large-scale international project within the several EU funded programmes.

A. Erasmus+ programme

  • Projects linked to civic education: “Otherness” project; “My Europe – Your Europe – Your Say” project; “Young Learners embrace Social Inclusion and Social Involvement” project.
  • Projects linked to STEAM education for SEN students: SEN Power project which designed a methodology for teaching Mathematics and Nature Studies to SEN students and two toolkits with ready-to-use educational resources to be used with SEN students: Mathematics4ALL and Nature Studies4ALL

B. “NaturAll LIFE: Build up acceptance of Natura2000 among key audiences; bring up generation of knowledgeable supporters“; EU programme: LIFE Environmental Governance and Information. The project designed a resource pack for teachers on environmental and conservation topics.

Polytechnic Institute of Santarém (IPSantarem) – Portugal

IPSantarém is a public polytechnic higher education institution, at the service of society, committed to the high-level qualification of citizens, aimed at the production and dissemination of knowledge, creation, transmission and issemination of knowledge of a professional nature, culture, science, of technology, the arts, guided research and experimental development, highlighting the centrality of the student and the surrounding community, within an international reference framework.

The various Schools offer bachelor’s, master’s and postgraduate courses, as well as higher professional technical courses. It has been possible, in some training areas, to use b-learning training.

IPSantarém promotes institutional cooperation and effective mobility of all its agents, both nationally and internationally – namely in the European higher education space and in the community of Portuguese-speaking countries – participates in activities to connect society, disseminate/ transfer and economic valorization of knowledge and ensures citizens’ access to higher education and lifelong learning.

IPSantarém maintains a close connection with the community and regional business, intensifying this relationship to provide training adapted to
regional needs.

Antalya Provincial Directorate for National Education APDNE (Turkey)

APDNE is a local public authority responsible for planning and coordinating various educational and training activities from preschool to secondary education in Antalya Province, which encompasses 5 central and 14 provincial districts. The Directorate oversees 19 District National Education Directorate offices, 369 high schools, 85 vocational high schools with various branches, 563 primary schools, and 702 kindergartens. The main
objective is to provide education aligned with modern principles and advancements, aiming to nurture individuals who adhere to EU norms, adapt
to diverse living conditions, and embody secular, democratic values while promoting intelligence and science. APDNE also places importance on
preserving cultural heritage, raising historical awareness, and respecting human rights and the environment. The Directorate is proactive in
promoting lifelong learning through diverse activities.

We currently have more than ten ongoing Erasmus+ KA220 Projects.

  • The Directorate holds Erasmus accreditation both in the fields of School Education and Vocational Education
  • The ESTELLA Project aims to enhance environmental awareness and responsibility by allowing students to explore, analyze, and
    communicate about the environmental values outside their schools.
  • The iSchool Project aims to integrate and preserve European cultural heritage within education.
  • The hVET Project takes a groundbreaking step by integrating the hybrid teaching model into vocational education and training (VET). This
    innovative approach combines the best features of online and in-person education, aiming to prepare for the post-pandemic era.
  • The IIExVET project focuses on developing a survey aimed at measuring excellence levels in vocational education and training (VET) across
    the European Union (EU). This assessment tool will help VET centers across the EU analyze their performance from an objective perspective,
    identify the steps needed to achieve excellence, and reach the EU’s quality and excellence standards in vocational education.
  • The S.T.E.P.S (STEM Teaching and Education Platform for Students) project is a tangible and sustainable initiative aimed at promoting equality and inclusivity in access to STEM and robotics education.

Vides izglītības fonds (Latvia)

Vides izglītības fonds (VIF) was founded to promote sustainable development through environmental education. VIF is the Latvian National Operator of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE International) programmes. FEE International is the world’s leading organization for environmental education and VIF successfully coordinates the work and development of all FEE International programmes and certifications (EcoSchools, Young Reporters for the Environment, Blue Flag, Green Key and Learning About Forests) in Latvia since 1998. Each of these programmes within their domains are among the most visible public initiatives in Latvia.

Vides izglītības fonds project examples:

  1. The We Eat Responsibly project from 2015 to 2018 that was implemented in nine EU countries with financial support of the European Union. We
    Eat Responsibly objectives were: (i) education for sustainable development; (ii) active students exploring the connection between global and local
    topics; (iii) active teachers empowering society to become active world citizens; (iv) involvement of local community; (v) sharing inspirations; (vi)
    publish methodology, lessons and publication materials on how our food changes the world.
  2. International educational campaign ‘The Great Plant Hunt’ (2016 to 2020) was implemented in 14 countries.. Number of educational materials, activities on biodiversity loss (also impact of climate change) for schools were prepared and promoted. The campaign promoted critical thinking by “go and see” study approach (learning by doing) and developed young people as advocates for conservation.
  3. Pilot project Eco-Schools Project for Advancing Circular Economy (2020-2021). Project objectives: Develop a curricular framework for school education on circular economy; develop exemplary educational kit on circular economy; training of teachers on teaching circular economy through the framework of project-based learning; raise awareness amongst stakeholders and an understanding of circular economy and principles of sustainability.
  4. From Autumn 2018 to Autumn 2020 VIF was taken part in the Erasmus + project – Hob’s Adventure – Hands-on Biodiversity. The project introduced children to the following topics through the overarching theme of the biodiversity of potted plants and outdoor environments: global citizenship, climate change, reasonable consumption of goods, diversity in nature, the needs of plants and animals, health and welfare.
