Kick-off meeting
Sofia, Bulgaria, September 22, 2023
Prosveta-Sofia Foundation, in partnership with Santarém Polythecnic University, Antalya Directorate of National education and Vides izglītības fonds (Foundation for Environmental Education) – Latvia, launched a new Erasmus+ project aimed at innovation in the sector of school education. The participating organizations from Bulgaria, Portugal, Latvia and Turkey have broad experience in creating teaching resources for school education and delivering trainings to students and teachers. The ECA project has 2 target groups: students 6 to 11 (TG1), and their teachers (TG2). Objectives:
TG1 – Teach students:
- To know and respect other people’s rights.
- To value every member of society as a human being.
- How to participate and actively contribute to school life.
- To become aware of the consequences of their actions on the environment.
- To act to save the earth.
TG2 – Support teachers to get the knowledge of basics in Human Rights, Social inclusion and Involvement education and Environmental education.
To do so, the project will create resources for a training course “Civic and Environmental Education” (CEE Training course): 20 topics in Civic education (part 1) and 20 topics in Environmental Education (part 2). The CEE TC will comprise: CEE students’ workbook and CEE teachers’ guidebook.
Within the project we will train 90 teachers as part of onsite teacher training events who will subsequently participate in the piloting and validation stages of the CEE training course resources.
Project partners met on September 22, 2023 in Sofia, Bulgaria to formally launch the project, to discuss some organizational and methodological aspects of prospective work and agreed on a detailed plan for the first year of the project.
